WEED, Calif.Perfect Union, one of California’s most-respected cannabis retail operators, announced a $10,000 donation to the Weed Fire Department to support operational needs for the Lava Fire and remaining 2021 wildfire season.

“We are committed to keeping our guests and communities healthy and thriving,” said Perfect Union CEO David Spradlin. “With the Lava Fire mere miles away from the community of Weed, we knew we needed to take action to support our firefighters battling this year’s wildfires.”

The volunteer fire department is responsible for the prevention and suppression of land, vehicle and structural fires, as well as responding to requests for emergency medical aid and accidents. The department is led by a full-time Fire Chief, Steve Duncan, a full-time Assistant Fire Chief, Brian Carter, volunteer company officers and firefighters, and supplemented by temporary firefighters participating in the College of the Siskiyous Emergency Response Technology Program.

“Perfect Union’s generous support represents the ‘unity’ in community,” said Chief Duncan. “Drought and record heat are making for a severe and unpredictable fire season, and their donation will go a long way to keep our firefighters safe and resourced. I appreciate their partnership and hope it inspires others to get involved.”

Perfect Union has over a decade of experience managing profitable cannabis businesses; navigating state and local laws and regulations; and adding value to the communities where they operate. They have a proven track record of building engagement, social welfare and outreach programs that focus on local partnerships, monetary investments and in-store donation campaigns.
