WEED, Calif. – Perfect Union in Weed recently donated over $3,200 and volunteered their assistance to the Siskiyou Humane Society. The month before, the cannabis dispensary donated $10,000 to the Weed Fire Department.

Earlier this month, Perfect Union staff spent the day volunteering to pull weeds, rake leaves and transfer mulch to the Humane Society’s dog recreational area. The business is also sponsoring Moose, a 1-year-old Saint Bernard/Anatolian Shepherd mix. To help the pooch find a forever home, Perfect Union staff will be putting up in-store posters and posting on social media, as well as covering his adoption fees.

The $10,000 donation to the WFD is meant to support operational needs for the Lava Fire and the remaining 2021 wildfire season, according to a press release.

“With the Lava Fire mere miles away from the community of Weed, we knew we needed to take action to support our firefighters battling this year’s  wildfires,” said Perfect Union CEO David Spradlin.

“Perfect Union’s generous support represents the ‘unity’ in community,” said WFD Chief Steve Duncan. “Drought and record heat are making for a severe and unpredictable fire season, and their donation will go a long way to keep our firefighters safe and resourced. I appreciate their partnership and hope it inspires others to get involved.”
