Funds will support the distribution of local, healthy organic food and educational /  life skills workshops

CHICO, Calif. – Perfect Union, one of California’s most-respected cannabis retail operators, recently donated $2,000 to From the Ground Up Farms (FTGUF), a nonprofit that provides the Chico community free organic food and educational workshops. 

Over 80 percent of Chico’s children (aged 3-17) attend public schools and/or daycares with inadequate food programs that mostly offer frozen or processed foods, and nearly 26 percent of these children are on some form of public assistance. The average Butte County family spends 14-19 percent of their income on food.

“Healthy food shouldn’t be a luxury, so we’re proud to help provide Chico residents free nutritious food that’s grown organically and locally,” said Perfect Union CEO David Spradlin.

“Perfect Union’s generous support will help keep Chico residents healthy and thriving,” said FTGUF Director Jenny Lowrey. “Their donation will help us deliver nutrition and provide educational opportunities that also build self sufficiency, improve mental and physical health, and help people grow confidence and self-respect.”

The cannabis retailer plans to expand to the Chico community in the future, and in the meantime, they are moving forward with community outreach and partnerships.
